We didn't know what to expect from this hotel and we were very pleasantly surprised at how good it is. The room was actually an apartment and it was very spacious. Very comfy bed. There was a combined washing machine/ dryer. We didn't use it, mainly because it looked super complicated and we were only there for one night and didn't want to risk not getting the dryer to work. It would have been helpful if there had some basic instructions available. There is a double hot plate and some pans etc so you can cook a meal if you wish. There is a nice restaurant and cafe. We had coffee by the lake at the outdoor patio when we arrived and it was lovely. Wanaka was beautiful. We loved it. It has much more "soul" than Queenstown and the walk by the lake is really picturesque. We had dinner at Spice Road in town - very, very good. Highly recommended. This is a very comfortable hotel, very tastefully furnished with friendly staff.

The hotel is right next to the lake so amazing views and access! Just a 5-10 min stroll to the famous Wanaka tree. Gorgeous property landscaping you could see the gardeners working hard all day long to maintain it. lovely and helpful staff very happy to help you arrange anything, activities or transport. Nice food for breakfast and dinner. the rooms are really lovely and comfortable. tons of towels so you don’t have to use the same one for ages. Great facilities. sadly didn’t get a chance to use the tennis court but they have that and a hot tub and sauna. only thing really missing is a pool? but the lake is so gorgeous you wont mind. they have a hotel cat called edge gorgeous little slinky black cutie who will come to your room and hang out, super friendly. as cat people she made our stay extra memorable! great for a family or couples.

Resort feel to this one. Lobby was welcoming and staff friendly. Ample parking in front of rooms. Our room was well appointed, comfortable bed, ample room for two to live with seating and outdoor furniture on balcony. We travelled with another couple who were celebrating milestone birthdays and they were upgraded to a 1 bedroom apartment. Thank you Edgewater. We had a meal in the restaurant on site. Staff were super friendly and good sales people! We enjoyed every mouthful of dinner and they had plenty to choose from on both the food and drinks menu. Beautiful location on the lake with easy walking path on your doorstop. We didn’t use the tennis courts, spa or sauna but all looked to be in great condition, we just didn’t have the time.

Staff were friendly, helpful and professional from the very start. I had booked an upper floor room but for health reasons really needed to be on the ground floor and reception staff went to great effort to relocate me. And every interaction with staff thereafter was also great. Especially in the restaurant where they took my dietary restrictions as seriously as I do and need to do. The restaurant and menus are some of the best I have ever experienced in terms of catering for dietary restrictions while still providing exceptionally yummy food.

Very glad that we book the one-bed room apartment as we spent quite sometimes in the room due to a rainy day during our stay. Space as well as the cooking facilities was so good and make our stay so comfortable. The noise of renovation was a little bit of disturbing however overall considered acceptable. Believed we were quite lucky that 2 out of 3 nights were rather quiet as not much visitors at that time and we enjoy the quietness by ourselves by the lake.
